“From the roots of humble beginnings grows a legacy of light and hope.”

As the sun set on 2024, a bright flame of unity and purpose continued to shine across Lukosi Primary School—rekindled by the hearts of her alumni.

Patron’s Message: Reclaiming Our Roots with Purpose

As Patron of the Lukosi Primary School Alumni Association, I am deeply humbled by the spirit of solidarity that our alumni community continues to demonstrate. Lukosi has come a long way since its modest beginnings in the late 1980s. Today, it proudly stands as a cradle of excellence, having nurtured generations of students who now shape Kenya’s destiny across various sectors.

This progress didn’t happen by chance. It is a testimony to the dedication of teachers, the resilience of students, and, most recently, the commitment of alumni like you—former pupils who now step forward not just with memories, but with resources, mentorship, and vision.

Under the current alumni leadership, we’re deepening networks with friends and well-wishers to support student performance and build vital infrastructure—classrooms, a library, and even technological upgrades. I urge all alumni to formally register and join hands in giving back. We must leave the school better than we found it—for the sake of the next generation.

The Spark that Became a Flame: 2024 in Review

The year 2024 began on a high note, following the successful electrification of the school in late 2023—a project fully funded by alumni. This light was not just physical; it symbolized a new dawn. But it quickly became evident that our next goal would require even more collaboration, coordination, and courage.

In January, an ad-hoc committee was formed to push forward new projects. Yet, as efforts unfolded, we discovered that true unity isn’t automatic—it must be cultivated. While the local MCA donated electrical wire, and some members offered support, we learned that meaningful progress would require consistent, intentional effort.

Media as a Bridge: Telling Our Story, Reaching the World

Inspired by Isaiah 11:1–10—a verse that speaks of a shoot growing from a once-fallen stump—we turned to the media to amplify our message. By May, our story had been featured on five local media outlets, including KTN and later K24, reaching new audiences through YouTube and beyond. The alumni message became a ripple of hope, calling all to remember where we came from and rise together.

A December to Remember: 2024 Alumni Reunion

Held on December 25th and 26th at Lukhome Grounds, the 2024 Alumni Reunion was a true celebration of unity in action. The event featured:

  • Village Football Tournaments with 8 spirited teams: Brighton FC, Lukosi Combined, Sowos FC, Namboko FC, Nyasi FC, Galaxy FC, Young Boys FC, and Chepkwasta FC.
  • A thrilling challenge match between former and current students, reminding all of the power of legacy.
  • Distribution of 50 reflective vests and 100 brochures to strengthen alumni visibility and information-sharing.
  • A dedicated moment for the Lukosi Alumni Bodaboda Family, where reflectors were issued in appreciation of their vital community service.

3PM Gathering: Planting Seeds of Engagement

The highlight of the event was the 3PM session—a symbolic hour of reflection and recommitment. Here, participants were welcomed, mapped into focus areas, and encouraged to subscribe to the alumni YouTube channel—not for numbers, but for the growth of a learning, sharing, and inspiring digital community.

The message was simple yet profound: Real change is only possible through real participation.

Message from the Welfare Committee Chairperson

Greetings in the Year of the Lord 2025.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the development of our welfare policy in 2024. In 2025, we aim to build upon that foundation to support each other better during times of need. Social cohesion is the heartbeat of our alumni family, and we remain committed to deepening that unity through inclusivity and collective resilience.

Our diversity is our strength. Let us continue lifting each other up.

Looking Ahead: 2025 and Beyond

Several projects have been earmarked for 2025, from infrastructure development to mentorship programs. The December 26th reunion is now officially designated as our Annual Alumni Day. Mark your calendar. Join the movement. Let your presence be felt.

Together, we are not just rebuilding a school—we are reigniting a legacy.

Let this be a call to action to every former student of Lukosi Primary: come home, give back, and help light the path for those who follow.

To our partners, well-wishers, media allies, and most importantly, our alumni—asante sana. You made 2024 a resounding success. Let’s make 2025 even greater.
